Caramels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stick butter or margarine
2 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 c. white corn syrup
1 can Eagle Brand milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation

Butter a 9 x 13-inch pan.
In a large saucepan, melt butter. Add sugar and syrup; bring to a boil. Add Eagle Brand and cook slowly, stirring constantly, until mixture forms a firm ball in cool water (244\u00b0 to 248\u00b0). Add vanilla, salt and nuts.
Do not beat!
Pour into prepared pan. Cool and cut into strips. Wrap pieces individually in waxed paper.
