Carol'S Pink-Tomato Sauce Over Rigatoni(Enough For 1 Pound Of Rigatoni) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
    4 Tbsp. fresh basil, julienne cut
    6 cloves garlic, minced
    1 tsp. grated cheese
    2 c. heavy cream
    1 Tbsp. fresh ground pepper
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Place tomatoes in a strainer and rinse well under cold water. Dice tomatoes.
    In a large saucepan, combine heavy cream, tomatoes, garlic, basil and salt.
    Bring mixture to a simmer and cook until reduced by half.
    While sauce is cooking, cook mezzani in rapidly boiling salted water, about 10 minutes.
    Drain rigatoni and place on serving platter.
    Pour sauce over rigatoni; sprinkle grated cheese on top.
