Chicken And Slick Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (5 lb.) chicken
    2 qt. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    2 c. self-rising flour
    3/4 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Combine chicken, water and salt in large Dutch oven; bring to boil.
    Reduce heat, cover and simmer 2 1/2 hours (until tender). If necessary, add water to maintain at least 3 cups broth.
    Remove chicken from broth; cool.
    Bone and cut into bite-size pieces. Return to broth and set aside.
