Butterscotch Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk, scalded
    dash of salt
    2 eggs, well beaten
    whipped cream or frozen whipped topping
    1 c. brown sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, salt and cornstarch.
    Add eggs and mix thoroughly.
    Add milk slowly, stirring constantly.
    Cook over hot water in a double boiler until thick and smooth.
    Cool.
    Add vanilla.
    Pour into a baked pastry shell and chill.
    Serve with whipped cream or frozen topping.
