Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    13 oz. minced clams
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. diced celery
    2 c. diced potatoes
    3/4 c. butter
    2/3 c. flour
    1 qt. half and half
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    few grains pepper
    1/2 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Drain juice from clams, pour over vegetables in saucepan and add enough water to barely cover.
    Simmer over medium heat until potatoes are tender (about 20 minutes).
