Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. jam
1/2 c. applesauce
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. lard
1/2 c. preserves
3 eggs
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. cocoa
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. nuts
Preparation

Grease 3 regular cake pans.
Sift all dry ingredients together.
Stir raisins in this to coat them.
Add the \"beaten\" eggs.
Add the rest of the ingredients as you wish, then add \"melted\" lard and nuts.
Stir up real good and pour in pans (do not use mixer).
Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 50 minutes.
