Mustard Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lbs. Onions, sliced
    1/3 c. Bacon Drippings
    1/3 c. Vinegar
    2 Tbsp. Prepared Mustard
    1 tsp. Salt
    1 can Tomato Puree (10 oz.)
    3/4 c. Boiling Water
    1/4 tsp. Salt
    1 scant c. Brown Sugar
    2 c. Bread Squares
    1/4 c. Melted Butter
Preparation
    Pour butter over squares.
    Add boiled ingredients, and bake 1/4 to 1/2 hour in a moderate (350\u00b0) oven.
    Serve with main course.
