Yorkshire Devils - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (4 1/2 oz.) can deviled ham
    2 Tbsp. fine dry bread crumbs
    1/8 tsp. ground sage
    1 Tbsp. minced scallions
    1/2 c. unsifted flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    3 tsp. oil
Preparation
    In a small mixing bowl, mix together deviled ham, bread crumbs, sage and scallions.
    Roll into 12 even size balls (about 1 teaspoon to 1 1/2 teaspoons each).
    In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the flour and salt.
    Make a well in center and break egg into it. Gradually beat in the milk, keeping smooth.
    Batter will be thin. Put 1/4 teaspoon oil in each of 12 muffin pan cups (1/3 cup capacity).
    Then add a ball of deviled ham mixture to each.
    Bake in a preheated 425\u00b0 oven for 2 minutes.
    Remove from oven and pour some batter over each ball.
    Bake in 425\u00b0 oven until browned and somewhat puffed, about 25 minutes.
    Serve hot.
