Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
4 Tbsp. cornstarch or flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
3 slightly beaten egg yolks
2 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box vanilla wafers
bananas
Preparation

In
saucepan
combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Gradually stir in milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils and thickens. Cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks; return to hot mixture. Cook for 2 minutes more, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in butter. Layer crackers, bananas and pudding mix in casserole dish. Top with Meringue.
