Asparagus Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1 c. heated Carnation milk
    3/4 c. whole wheat cracker crumbs
    1 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 tsp. minced onion
    2 c. fresh cooked asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Beat the egg slightly.
    Add the heated milk gradually and mix. Add the cracker crumbs, melted butter and onion.
    Let stand for a few minutes until the crumbs absorb some of the liquid.
    Fold the asparagus into the mixture carefully and season with salt and pepper.
    Pour into a buttered loaf pan and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes.
    Serve from the dish.
    Asparagus Loaf may be served with a cream sauce and garnished with crisp strips of bacon.
