Braised Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 slices white bread
    1/2 c. Mazola margarine
    4 to 5 medium size apples, pared, cored and thinly sliced
    1/4 c. raisins
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 c. dark Karo syrup
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    3 Tbsp. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Remove crust from bread.
    Melt Mazola in a large skillet.
    Add bread and toss lightly.
    Cook over medium heat, turning often until toasted.
    Add apples, raisins, cinnamon
    and syrup; toss to coat.
    Cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes, tossing occasionally, turning once or twice until apples are tender. Sprinkle with brown sugar and chopped walnuts.
    Yields 6 to 8 servings.
