Kahlua - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    3 c. granulated sugar
    1 (2 oz.) jar instant coffee
    1/5 bourbon/vodka
    1 large vanilla bean (cut)
Preparation
    Combine 1 cup water and sugar in large saucepan.
    Cook, uncovered, over medium heat for 10 minutes.
    Add 1 cup boiling water to the coffee.
    When dissolved, mix into syrup.
    Remove from heat.
    Cool to lukewarm!
    Stir in liquor and vanilla bean.
    Pour into clean 1/2 gallon bottle.
    Cap tightly.
    Store at least 4 weeks before using, the longer, the better.
    Serve over ice, with coffee or in cream.
