Italian Dish Meal - cooking recipe

6 to 8 potatoes
2 lb. cubed stew beef, chicken or steak
3 Tbsp. basil
3 Tbsp. parsley
3 Tbsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. vegetable oil
2 (8 oz.) cans pine cone size tomatoes
Preparation

Do entire large pan of ingredients in layers.
First, make a thin layer of potatoes.
Second, put meat in a layer on top of potatoes, then sprinkle some basil, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper.
Then, do next layer of potatoes, meat and seasonings. Continue layers until all is used.
Add water and oil to sides of pan, not on top of ingredients, then crush with hand both cans of tomatoes on top of ingredients.
Cover with foil and bake at 400\u00b0 for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until potatoes are tender.
