Applesauce Fruitcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 c. applesauce
    1 c. each: raisins, chopped dates, candied fruit, candied cherries and chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Beat in eggs.
    Sift together dry ingredients.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with applesauce, beating each time.
    Stir in raisins, fruit and pecans.
    Bake in greased and floured 10-inch tube pan at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Test with toothpick.
    Cool in pan.
