Pepper Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef chuck or round steak, cut in thin strips
    1/4 c. cooking oil
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. water
    1 c. green pepper, cut in 1-inch strips
    1 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch plus 1 c. water
    2 tomatoes or 1 large can tomatoes
Preparation
    Brown meat in hot oil.
    Add garlic and cook until yellow.
    Add soy sauce, salt and 1/4 cup water.
    Cook for 45 minutes.
    Add vegetables.
    Cook 10 minutes.
    Stir in cornstarch mixed with 1 cup water.
    Add tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.
    Serve over rice. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
