Red Lentil Pate - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. red lentils, rinsed well
    4 c. water
    1 large onion, diced
    1 c. chopped mushrooms
    1/2 c. walnuts, finely chopped
    4 Tbsp. miso
    2 Tbsp. tahini
    3 Tbsp. minced scallions or chives
    2 Tbsp. tamari
Preparation
    Bring water to boil, add lentils and cook 10 minutes.
    Add onion and mushrooms, lower heat and cook 10 minutes.
    Add rest of ingredients, blend well and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
    Serve on rice cakes, pita bread, tortillas or dip into vegetables.
    Add more water as needed and cooking time may vary.
    Lentils should be soft enough to serve as dip.
    Makes 4 to 5 servings.
