Potato Pancakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1 onion
    1 lb. potatoes
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. milk
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Pare the potatoes and onion; grate and let stand for about 10 minutes so moisture from the potatoes will rise to the top. Remove the liquid.
    Beat egg until the yolk and white are thoroughly combined.
    Pour into the grated potatoes and onion; stir with fork.
    Add the other ingredients.
    More flour may be needed.
    Fry in hot fat.
    When brown on one side, turn.
    Excellent with meat.
