Scalloped Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. thinly sliced onions
    3 Tbsp. oleo
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    3 Tbsp. grated cheese
    3/4 c. thick white sauce
    1/4 c. soft bread crumbs
Preparation
    Wash and peel onions; slice 1/4-inch thick.
    Heat oleo in saucepan; add onions.
    Cover and cook until golden brown, stirring 2 or 3 times.
    Place onions in 6 to 8-inch baking dish; add seasoning and white sauce.
    Sprinkle top with bread crumbs and cheese; bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes.
