Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks oleo
    3 c. sugar
    5 egg yellows, beaten well
    1/8 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. plain flour
Preparation
    Cream oleo and sugar.
    Add egg yolks; dissolve soda in 1 teaspoon warm water.
    Mix in 1 cup buttermilk.
    Add 3 cups plain flour alternately with milk.
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Fold in cake batter.
    Bake in tube pan for 1 1/2 hours until done at 300\u00b0.
