Mary Louise'S Buttermilk Party Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/2 to 2 c. buttermilk
    5 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Dissolve dry yeast in 2 tablespoons very warm water and set aside.
    Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and shortening.
    Add buttermilk to yeast and mix with dry ingredients.
    Roll to 3/8 to 1/2-inch thick, cut and bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
