Springerle - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 eggs
1 lb. powdered sugar
4 c. cake flour
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. baking powder
pinch salt
2 Tbsp. melted butter
anise seed
Preparation

Beat eggs until light, stir in sugar a little at a time.
Beat 10 minutes.
Add lemon juice and melted butter.
Mix together in another bowl flour, salt and baking powder.
Add to first ingredients.
Dough should be fairly stiff.
Sprinkle flour on counter, roll dough out 1/2 inch thick.
Cut into shapes.
Lay on greased cookie sheets sprinkled with anise seed.
Leave sitting out for 24 hours before baking.
Bake at 350\u00b0 (preheated) for 15-20 minutes.
Cookies should be very light in color, just tinted.
