24 Hour Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. lettuce, shredded
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    6 strips fried bacon, cut up
    1/2 c. canned peas
    1 c. mayonnaise plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. finely shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Layer first 4 ingredients in oblong casserole dish.
    Layer crumbled bacon over vegetables.
    Add peas.
    Spread mayonnaise with sugar over salad.
    Top with grated cheese.
    Refrigerate 24 hours.
