Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head lettuce
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 small chopped onion
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, unthawed
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 oz. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
    8 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
    1/2 c. croutons
Preparation
    Cut up the lettuce.
    Place into a 9
    x 3-inch dish.
    Sprinkle the next 4 ingredients over lettuce in layers.
    Spread mayonnaise over peas. Sprinkle next 4 ingredients over mayonnaise in order. Cover and chill. Can be made the day ahead.
    Keeps well.
