Marinated Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 grated cabbage
    4 diced onions
    1 diced bell pepper
    1 grated carrot
    1 pt. vinegar
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Mix together cabbage, onion, pepper and carrot.
    Set aside. Mix together vinegar, sugar, mustard seed, celery seed, salt and turmeric and bring to a boil and pour over cabbage mixture.
    Store in refrigerator 24 hours before serving (will keep for a month). You can use sugar substitute rather than sugar.
