Gingerberry Liqueur - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. strawberries, stemmed
    1 pt. raspberries
    2 Tbsp. candied ginger
    4 c. vodka
    1/2 c. white wine
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Combine berries, candied ginger, vodka and wine in a large jar with a screw-top lid.
    Place in a cool, dark place for 1 month to steep.
    Crush berries with a wooden spoon; steep for another 4 days.
    Strain the liquid, pressing as much juice from the berries as possible.
    Filter liquid through a coffee filter.
    Boil sugar and water together until sugar is dissolved.
    Cool.
    Gradually stir into the liqueur, tasting for desired sweetness.
    Pour into a clean, decorative bottle and age 3 weeks before using.
