Sliced Green Tomato Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. green tomatoes
    5 lb. sugar
    1 Tbsp. allspice
    1 Tbsp. white mustard seed
    1 bottle (11 1/2 gm) lime
    3 pt. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. cloves
Preparation
    Slice tomatoes 1/8 inch thick.
    Dissolve lime in enough water to cover tomatoes.
    Soak 24 hours.
    Drain and soak in cold water for 4 hours.
    Change water every hour.
    Make a syrup of sugar and 3 pints vinegar and pour hot syrup over tomatoes.
    Let stand overnight.
