Charlotte'S Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. crushed vanilla wafers
    4 tsp. butter
    1 qt. ice cream
    1/2 c. butter
    2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
    3 well beaten egg yolks
    1 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 egg whites
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix vanilla wafers and butter, press in 9 x 9-inch pan.
    Save a few crumbs, for topping.
    Refrigerate.
    Soften ice cream, spread over crumb mixture, put in freezer.
    Melt 1/2 cup butter and chocolate over low heat, beat egg yolks and add to chocolate.
    Add sugar and vanilla, mix well, and cool.
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    When chocolate mixture is cool, fold in egg whites and nuts.
    Put on top of ice cream, sprinkle with reserved crumbs; return to freezer.
    Cut in squares to serve.
