5 Pound Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. Karo syrup
    2 sticks butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients, except vanilla, in a saucepan, stirring well.
    Cook to 240\u00b0, using a candy thermometer, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat; add vanilla.
    Beat with a mixer until it forms peaks.
    Pour into a buttered pan.
