Shaker Lemon Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 small lemons, very thinly sliced
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. shortening, chilled and cut into pieces
    1/3 c. butter (about 5 1/3 Tbsp.), chilled and cut into pieces
    1/4 to 1/3 c. ice water
    4 large eggs
    1 Tbsp. heavy cream
    unsweetened whipped cream
Preparation
    Wash and cut the lemons in half, then into paper-thin slices, rind and all. Remove the seeds and put the slices in a glass bowl. Add the sugar and mix well. Cover this and let stand overnight.
