Fish Or Clam Chowder(New England Style-White) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 potatoes, cubed
1 c. water
2 onions, diced
1 c. raw mushrooms
1 c. chopped green pepper
3 Tbsp. oil or butter
1/2 c. whole wheat or white flour
1 qt. milk
1 lb. fish fillets, cubed or clams, diced
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. tamari or soy sauce
3 Tbsp. chopped parsley
1/2 c. sherry wine (optional)
Preparation

Cook potatoes in water in a covered saucepan until tender. In another pan, saute onions, mushrooms and pepper in oil or butter until onions are golden.
Slowly add flour to vegetable mixture, stirring gently but constantly, to coat all vegetables. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly, until smoothly blended.
Add fish or clams, salt, pepper and tamari or soy sauce.
Cook, covered, on medium heat for 15 minutes or until fish is tender. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Add parsley, sherry, cooked potatoes and potato water.
Heat through and serve.
Serves 6.
