Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    10 oz. frozen peas, uncooked
    1 1/2 c. salad dressing
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 to 6 oz. pkg. Cheddar cheese
    8 strips bacon, fried
Preparation
    Fill a large cake pan or attractive container 1/2 full with lettuce.
    Add remaining ingredients in layers as listed, mixing the sugar with the salad dressing.
    Pour over the top and cover container.
    Refrigerate up to 8 hours before serving.
    Serves 18.
