Old Fashioned Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. soft bread crumbs, cubed
    2 1/2 c. scalded milk
    3 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Place in 1 1/2-quart baking dish 3 cups bread crumbs.
    Beat eggs.
    Add sugar, salt, nutmeg and vanilla.
    Add scalded milk. Blend into crumbs.
    Bake in pan of hot water 1-inch deep.
    Bake until silver knife inserted 1-inch from side comes out clean at 350\u00b0, about 40 to 45 minutes.
    Serve warm.
    Makes 6 servings.
