Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head lettuce
    1 c. celery, diced
    1/2 c. green pepper, diced
    2 bunches fresh green onions, diced
    1 can water chestnuts, cut up
    1 bag frozen pears or box, not thawed
    2 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    3 to 4 hard-cooked eggs
    8 slices crisp bacon, broken up
    4 oz. grated Cheddar cheese
    3 tomatoes, cut-up
Preparation
    Mix sugar and mayonnaise and spread all over.
    Layer the lettuce in and all the other green things, then put 3 or 4 hard-cooked eggs, sliced, over it.
    Then bacon and cheese.
    Cover tightly with Saran Wrap and refrigerate 8 to 12 hours or overnight.
    Add tomatoes and serve.
