Wild Rice And Sausage Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. wild rice
    1/2 lb. sausage
    1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
    1 medium to large onion, chopped
    1/8 c. flour
    1/4 c. evaporated milk or heavy cream
    1 1/4 c. chicken broth or 2 chicken bouillon cubes, dissolved in 1 1/4 c. hot water
    pinch each thyme, oregano and marjoram
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. slivered almonds, toasted
Preparation
    Wash rice in a sieve under running water.
    To cook the rice, use 3 cups water, 1 teaspoon salt and 1 cup wild rice.
    Bring to a slow rolling boil and boil until the rice is flaky and tender when tested, approximately 30 minutes.
    Drain, then steam dry over low heat to make it fluffy.
    Set aside.
