Steak And Potato Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 lb. top round steak
    1/4 c. flour
    4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. canola oil
    8 medium carrots, thickly sliced
    8 medium potatoes, thickly sliced
    1 envelope onion soup mix
Preparation
    About 2 1/2 hours before serving: Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Cut meat into serving pieces, trimming fat and bone. On wooden board or wax paper, using meat mallet, pound mixture of flour, salt, pepper and meat. In large skillet over medium heat in hot oil, brown meat well on both sides. Arrange meat in 3-quart casserole dish. Place carrots and potatoes on top. Sprinkle with onion soup mix and cover with 3 1/2 cups water. Bake, covered, for 2 hours.
