Kraut - cooking recipe
Ingredients

cabbage, grated
sugar
canning salt
boiling water
Preparation

Grate cabbage and pack in jars tightly.
For a quart add 1 tsp canning salt, 1 tsp sugar.
Pour boiling water over cabbage.
Take a knife and put holes to let water go down through the cabbage and cover completely and seal.
Put jars in a bowl or pan lined with a towel the kraut will work out.
Pint:
1/2 tsp canning salt; 1/2 tsp sugar.
