Microwave Easy Opera Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    2 (3 or 3 1/4 oz.) pkg. regular vanilla pudding mix
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. sifted powdered sugar (4 3/4 c.)
    1/3 c. nuts or candy cherries, chopped
Preparation
    In 2-quart glass bowl, micro-melt the butter about 1 minute. Stir in dry mix and milk.
    Cook, uncovered, until boiling, about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Cook 1 minute more, stirring every 15 seconds.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat in sugar; stir in nuts or cherries.
    Pour into buttered 10 x 6 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Top with nut halves, if desired.
    Chill; cut in squares and store in refrigerator.
