Cocoa Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. cocoa
    3 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 c. whole milk
    4 Tbsp. white syrup
    3 Tbsp. margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts, if desired (walnuts or pecans)
Preparation
    Combine cocoa, sugar and salt in heavy saucepan.
    Add milk and syrup, then add margarine.
    Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
    Continue boiling, without stirring, until small amount of mixture forms a soft ball in cold water.
    Remove from heat; add vanilla.
    Beat until it thickens and loses gloss.
    Turn at once into greased pan.
