Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
1 clove garlic, minced
3 Tbsp. salad oil
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. cold water
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. chili powder
dash of Tabasco
1 tsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 lb. cleaned raw shrimp
Preparation

Cook onion, celery and garlic in hot oil until tender.
Be careful not to burn garlic.
Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, sugar, chili powder, Worcestershire and Tabasco.
Simmer, uncovered, 45 minutes.
Mix cornstarch with water; stir into sauce until mixture thickens.
Add shrimp and green pepper.
Cover; simmer about 5 minutes.
Serve over rice.
Makes 4 servings.
