Cheese-Stuffed Hamburger Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    3 c. toasted bread cubes
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 egg
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. sage
    1 1/4 c. grated sharp process cheese
Preparation
    Simmer onion in 1/3 cup boiling water for 5 minutes.
    Pour over bread.
    Combine meat, egg and seasonings.
    Pat out in 14 x 8-inch rectangle on waxed paper.
    Spread bread mixture over and sprinkle 1 cup of the cheese on top.
    Roll and place in 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 70 minutes. Sprinkle remaining cheese and bake 2 minutes longer.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings
