May'S Louisiana Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. water
    strawberry jello
    red food coloring
    2 c. strawberries
    pie crust
    Cool Whip
Preparation
    Mix sugar and cornstarch (heaped) with water.
    Using thick pot, cook mix until very thick consistency, then remove from heat. Stir in 3 tablespoons strawberry jello. Cool.
    May add 3 to 4 drops red food coloring to mix.
    Add 1 1/2 to 2 cups bite size halved strawberries.
    Put into
    9-inch baked and cooled pie crust. Chill pie and top with Cool Whip or whipping cream to serve.
    May make double recipe.
