English Toffee - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. butter (no margarine)
3 Tbsp. water
2 c. sugar
about 15 (1 3/8 oz.) Hershey candy bars
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Place butter and water in electric frypan.
Set at 400\u00b0.
Melt butter with water, then add sugar and stir.
Cook 10 to 12 minutes (about 270\u00b0 or 280\u00b0 on candy thermometer), stirring constantly. When cooked, pour out on cookie sheet.
Immediately place Hershey bars on top to cover.
When soft, swirl with spatula.
Sprinkle ground walnuts on top.
Use back of spoon to press nuts into chocolate.
Cool and break into pieces.
Christmas must; makes great gifts.
