Cucumber Sandwich Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. (1/4 inch slices) small cucumbers
    1/2 c. salt
    2 qt. water
    1 c. vinegar
    1 c. water
    2 c. vinegar
    1 c. hot tap water
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. light brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. mustard seed
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    In large mixing bowl, place prepared cucumber slices.
    Sprinkle with salt.
    Add 2 quarts water and let stand 2 to 3 hours.
    Drain and rinse.
    In a 2-quart casserole, place cucumbers, vinegar and 1 cup water.
    Cover.
    Microwave at High for 10 minutes, stirring after 5 minutes, until tender.
    Drain.
