Old Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs, beaten
3 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
pinch of salt
1/4 c. sweet milk
granulated sugar
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs and beat until well blended. Sift flour, baking powder, spices and salt together.
Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to egg mixture, beating after each addition.
When thoroughly mixed, form dough into a roll. Wrap in waxed paper.
Refrigerate for 24 hours.
Slice crosswise and arrange on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Place on rack to cool.
Sprinkle with granulated sugar while still warm.
Makes 6 dozen.
