Spiked Pineapple Pick-Up - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (No. 2 1/2) can pineapple chunks
    3/4 c. vinegar
    1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
    6 to 8 whole cloves
    1 (4-inch) piece cinnamon stick
Preparation
    Day or so before use, drain syrup from pineapple chunks to 3/4 cup syrup.
    Add vinegar, sugar, dash of salt, cloves and cinnamon stick.
    Heat 10 minutes.
    Add pineapple and bring to boil.
    Cool; refrigerate until time to serve.
