Almond Butter Crunch - cooking recipe

1 c. butter or margarine
1 1/3 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. light corn syrup
3 tsp. water
1 c. coarsely chopped almonds, toasted
4 or 4 1/2 oz. bars milk chocolate, melted
1 c. finely chopped almonds, toasted
Preparation

Melt butter in heavy 2-quart saucepan. Add sugar, syrup and water. Cook, stirring often, to hard crack stage (300\u00b0).
Quickly stir in coarsely chopped nuts. Spread in well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Cool. Turn out on waxed paper.
Spread top with half the chocolate and sprinkle with half the finely chopped nuts. Cover with waxed paper.
Invert and repeat chocolate and nuts. Chill to firm.
