Fish Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. haddock or other fish
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. cubed potatoes
    1-inch sq. salt pork
    1 medium onion
    butter
    2 cans evaporated milk
    sherry or white wine (optional)
    butter, salt and pepper to taste (add with evaporated milk)
Preparation
    Simmer haddock in 1 cup water until cooked.
    Remove from pan. Add potatoes to water (you may need more water).
    Simmer until cooked, but not overdone.
