Anzac Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. rolled oats
    3/4 c. desiccated coconut
    1 c. plain flour
    1 1/2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda
    2 Tbsp. boiling water
    1 c. sugar
    125 gm (4 oz.) butter
    1 Tbsp. golden syrup
Preparation
    Combine rolled oats, sifted flour, sugar and coconut.
    Combine butter and golden syrup and stir over gentle heat until melted. Mix soda with boiling water.
    Add to melted butter mixture and stir into dry ingredients.
    Spoon dessert spoonfuls of mixture onto greased oven trays.
    Allow room for spreading.
    Bake in slow oven for 20 minutes.
    Cool on trays.
    Makes approximately 36.
