Boerenjones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. raisins
    3/4 lb. sugar
    1/2 lemon, sliced
    1 qt. alcohol (non-carbonated)
    4 to 5 cloves
Preparation
    Wash raisins and cover with lukewarm water for 24 hours.
    Add sugar, lemon slices, alcohol and cloves.
    Store in a cool, dark place in a sealed container for 3 to 6 months.
    Serve in a short glass with a teaspoon.
    Makes approximately 1/2 gallon.
