Individual Berry Pandowdies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. fresh berries
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 1/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1/2 c. milk or buttermilk
    1/2 stick butter, softened
    sugar and nutmeg
    vanilla ice cream (optional)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    In a large bowl, toss berries with 1/4 cup sugar and cornstarch.
    In a medium bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, baking powder and salt.
    Add egg, milk and butter; mix until well combined.
    Prepare six 8-ounce custard cups with nonstick cooking spray.
    Divide berry mixture among the custard cups.
    Top each cup with batter.
    Sprinkle each with sugar and nutmeg.
    Place cups on baking sheet; bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until tops are golden.
    Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
